Details of events unions are involved in to recognise International Womens DayHealthy Hospitals ? SFWU

The Service and Food Workers Union Nga Ringa Tota (SFWU) launches its Healthy Pay for Healthy Hospitals campaign on the 8th. There are stopwork meetings planned in every District Health Board in New Zealand, and three main rallies - Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch. More information: www.healthyhospitals.org

Payslips to the PM ? NZNO & SFWU

Members of the New Zealand Nurses Organisation (NZNO) and the SFWU working in aged care are sending their payslips to the Prime Minister starting on the 8th, highlighting the rock bottom pay rates in aged care. The action is part of the NZNO/SFWU Grow to Win/Fair Share in Aged Care campaign

Stall & Speakers - MUNZ/VUWSA

MUNZ in association with VUWSA are holding a stall with some speakers and resources on display to recognise International Womens Day, at Victoria University Pipitia Campus, Wellington (Bunny St Footpath). Theme: PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE with Womens struggles in Aotearoa. 11am set up, Info stalls for organisations, 12pm speakers with sausage sizzle. "A Womans Place is in the Struggle" - Auckland International Women's Day Committee

"A Womans Place is in the Struggle". A Forum of Speakers, Discussion, Music and Drink. 7pm, Trades Hall Bar , 147 Great North Rd, Grey Lynn. There will be a panel of speakers on "Women organising women ". Jill Ovens (Activist and Unionist) will speak on "Women workers: making the invisible visible". Daphna Whitmore on "International struggles." Music by Lucy Stewart, Rosetta Vai, and others. Entry: free / koha (optional) to cover hall hire and organising costs. Proceeds from drink sales to the Working Womens Resource Centre.
