Cost of Implementing the new Holidays Act - Peter Conway

Speech delivered to a Wellington conference on the holidays act.

1.1 In this brief presentation I will argue that although there are costs in implementing the new Holidays Act, there are also benefits to employers, that workers will also benefit, that the costs to employers are minor compared with the huge savings they have made since 1990, and that workers have been bearing the costs to their health and well-being of longer hours and a more intensive work environment.
