The Council of Trade Unions is led by principles of democracy at every step of our decision making processes. The decisions of the union movement are determined by working people.
We stand alongside all our affiliates including the New Zealand Nurses Organisation (NZNO). The NZNO have democratic processes set out in their rules and constitutions. It is critical these rules are respected, and applied impartially to protect the democratic mandate of elected leaders. Independent legal advice has confirmed the actions taken are lawful and appropriate.
