The Council of Trade Unions is pleased to support the launch of the Public Service Associations (PSA) election campaign – Let’s Do Even BETTER and the associated Aotearoa Wellbeing Commitment.
CTU Secretary Melissa Ansell-Bridges was at the launch and commented that “This campaign lays down a real challenge to politicians from across the political spectrum to rebuild better – we will be interested to see which politicians make the most of this opportunity.”
The Aotearoa Wellbeing Commitment (AWC) underwrites the health and wellbeing of all New Zealanders, making sure everyone has a decent standard of living. The AWC is a commitment to be made by government to provide healthcare, education, housing, income support, public transport and internet for all citizens.
“COVID-19 has reminded us all how fundamental a strong public sector is to our society’s well being,” said Ansell-Bridges.
